Facial Rejuvenation With BotoxⓇ and Dermal Fillers
When you look in the mirror, does your face resemble that of Keith Richards? While this might be a look I’d appreciate, I realize that most of my patients don’t want to look like an aging rock god. While I specialize in making your teeth look amazing, I can also help you out with those crow’s feet, frown lines, and marionette lines; if you’re interested in having a more youthful appearance without going under the knife, then I’ve got just the solution for you.
Who Are You Going To Trust With Your Face?
Groupon is great! It’s perfect for ordering discounted compression socks, fidget spinners, and luggage, among other things. What it is not great for is cosmetic treatments. Wherever you might purchase them, avoid discounted Botox and filler treatments, as the injections are often administered by non-medical professionals such as spa attendants. If not properly administered, Botox can cause facial paralysis and muscle “freezing” while fillers can produce an unnatural look. Stick to your favorite dentist – me, obviously – or other medical professionals who are certified to use Botox and dermal fillers for cosmetic purposes.
Botox is a naturally derived product that has been used by doctors for decades to treat a variety of conditions such as muscle spasms, migraine headaches, and even excessive sweating. In the 1980’s, the FDA approved Botox for cosmetic use. What many people don’t know is that Botox doesn’t actually remove wrinkles; instead, it paralyzes the muscles that form the wrinkles, resulting in smoother skin with diminished lines.
Quick and Easy
If you’re a candidate for Botox, I can complete the treatment in-office and within 30 minutes. When the treatment is finished, you can return to work, home, or play.
Because Botox paralyzes muscles, it is not ideal for all parts of the face. For wrinkles around the mouth and cheeks, dermal fillers are ideal, as they actually fill in the wrinkles and add volume. As you age, your collagen production decreases and your cheeks may sag, creating a jowly appearance. Dermal Fillers such as JuvédermⓇ fills in the gaps and put your cheeks back where they belong.
Like Botox, dermal filler injections can be administered in my office. The treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the areas that are being treated. Some dermal fillers contain lidocaine to help minimize pain. If you opt for a filler without lidocaine, I can use a topical numbing gel to ease your discomfort.
The Miller Center for Esthetic Excellence offers far more than excellence in dental care, we have ways to improve the esthetic excellence of your face, as well. If you are interested in Botox or dermal fillers, contact my office today to schedule an appointment.
